Virgin mobile changed phone number?

i changed the number on my phone on the website then called and talk to customer service and he helped me lke reprogram the phone and then he said wait 4 hours. its been 6 hours and i cant recieve text messages or send them.and when i call someone the caller id is my old phone number and i dont know what to do.
