R12 ac to r134, how much $ ?

i got a 87 plymouth 2.2l reliant le wagon, the ac will kick on and stay a cool temperture instead of getting warm. if i put the adapters on can i just fill it up with r134 and be fine or do i need to drain the old refrigerant? and if i have a shop do it how much would it be?
