My dog is 8 yrs old and I have never changed his diet, ?

but here recently he has been farting a lot.its kinda of funny until I smell it!! Is it safe to give him BEANO gas pills? The dog is fine and healthy plays all the time and his appetite is as good as ever!! He just farts a lot. thanks
